Besides working on R&D projects, our laboratories provide testing and technological services. The Leather / Biopolymers Division offers the following services:

Leather Laboratory

• Tannery- und resource invertigations (Freiberg Hide Powder - pill test)
• Tannery tests
• Assessment of Leather- and rawskin defects
• Measurement of shrinking temperature

Laboratory Collagen / Biopolymers

• Chromatography of gelatines, collagen- and proteinhydrolysats (gram molecule division, IEX, RP-HPLC, ...)
• SDS-PAGE
• DSC
• DMA

Pilot-scale tannery

• Development of environmentally friendly leather manufacturing processes
• Smallest amounts of leathers and single items are prodced
• Busy in leather archeology and history
• Fulfils tasks of PR, skill improvement and consultancy
