The conference offers insights into current developments in coating technologies—from new raw materials and additives to functional coatings and sustainable and digital approaches for modern surfaces.
FILK is represented with three presentations.
In her presentation “Barrier Coatings for Flexible Synthetic Leather Based on PLA,” Linda Köhler demonstrates how PLA-based coatings can reduce the migration of additives and reliably protect surfaces. She presents two approaches to reducing solvent use: water-based PLA dispersions and PLA copolymers produced via microwave-assisted synthesis, which increase the solids content and improve adhesion to PVC substrates.
Andrea Winkler will present the lecture “Silazane-Based Coatings for Flexible Composite Materials.” The focus is on newly developed polysilazane-polysiloxane copolymers that combine the outstanding protective and **easy-to-clean properties**** of polysilazanes with the flexibility of polysiloxanes. The presentation will cover the synthesis, a solvent-free UV-curable coating system, and investigations into soiling behavior and the curing of thin coating layers.
In addition, Andrea Winkler will present a poster on the topic “Transparent Coating with Permanent Antistatic Effect for Flexible Composite Materials.” The presentation highlights the development of a transparent, permanently antistatic coating based on PEDOT:PSS, whose effect is independent of humidity.
