14th International Styrian Noise, Vibration & Harshness Congress 2026

FILK at the ISNVH Conference 2026

The ISNVH Conference is an internationally oriented expert meeting focused on noise, vibration and harshness in the mobility sector. It brings together specialists from industry and academia and serves as an established platform for exchanging current topics in vehicle acoustics, vibration analysis, simulation and virtual development.

Within this framework, FILK Freiberg is represented with two technical presentations:

Presentation 1 – Martin Strangfeld

“Bridging Simulation And Reality: Incorporating Seal Contact Detachment Into Stick–Slip Prediction”

This contribution presents an extended approach for more accurate prediction of stick–slip phenomena in virtual vehicle development. For the first time, the deformability of seals is included in the assessment. In addition to simulated relative motion and classical stick–slip testing, the method focuses on the distance to first sliding, determined using a newly developed algorithm.

The approach enables earlier and more precise assessments of potential noise risks caused by seals and supports more realistic virtual development.

Presentation 2 – Susanne Fritz

“Towards Realistic Stick‑Slip Testing: Efficiently Mapping Material Behavior across a Wide Range of Loading Conditions”

This presentation introduces an enhanced stick–slip testing method for vehicle interior materials. In contrast to the classical VDA 230‑206 test, the method considers varying climatic and loading conditions as well as dynamic excitations. This leads to a more realistic evaluation of noise risk and provides a stronger basis for material selection and optimization.
