from 18:30  Dinner at "Landgoed De Rosep"

This year we will visit the Trappist monastery and its brewerie "La Trappe" in Berkel-Enschot.

We will join a guided tour of the brewery, which is operated by the monastery Onze Lieve Vrouw van Koningshoeven. We will watch a movie about the schedule of the monks and their tasks, e.g. brewing beer, and for sure we will enjoy tasting beer and some homemade cheese.

We will go by bus, back and forth.

Afterwards the organisers cordially invite their guests for the common dinner in the Landgoed "De Rosep".

Please, make sure to indicate with your registration which of the programme part you intend to participate.

Oisterwijk is a small municipality in the Netherlands between Tilburg and ’s-Hertogenbosch. It is pictorially located between dense forests ("Bos"), dunes ("Duinen") and lakes ("Ven") a hundres kilometres south of Amsterdam.

The leather industry was very important in the beginning of the 20th century. In 1916, O.J. van der Aa founded a leather factory, which was specialised in tanning of calf skin. In 1932, it was granted with the predicate "Royal" Leather Factory (Koninklijke Lederfabriek te Oisterwijk)(KVL). The factory was closed in 1996. Since a few years the area of the leather factory is gentrified. Artists, a popular bakery or an accountant are hiring rooms during the week, but also you can use the location for exhibitions, conferences or as a theatre and concert stag for some days. So, this year the "6th Freiberg Leather Days" will take place with the support of the dutch organisation NVLST at the  "Leerfabriek" in Oisterwijk.

Other companies in charge for the leather industry, as Stahl, Smit & Zoon, Ecco and im Innovating, have their headquartes close by. They give a huge economic value also nowadays to this region.

Oisterwijk and its surroundings are also touristically very attractive, and it is worth it staying longer after the conference: wether long bicicle tours through the forests, walks in the dunes, the theme parc "Efteling", a visit of a museum with Hieronymus Bosch and Vincent van Gogh, or a boat cruise in s`Hertogenbosch.

We are looking forward to see you in Oisterwijk.

We have reserved a limited number of rooms at the following hotels. Please, book your room directly with the hotel mentioning the reference „Leather Days“.
