The Board of the FILK supporting association and owner of the Freiberg based institute confirms the appointment of a second manager - Dr. Haiko Schulz appointed to the managing board of the institute.
In the course of its board meeting on November 24th 2016, the FILK supporting association confirmed the appointment of Dr Haiko Schulz as CEO to the managing board next to long-term director of institute, Prof. Dr. Michael Stoll. He will take executive position starting January 1st 2017. With this the institute once more proves foresight and ensures continuity in terms of its future development.
Dr Haiko Schulz studied chemistry at the Technical University Dresden and gained 1993 his PhD at the Institute for Analytical Chemistry in the field of “NMR of solids and liquids for organic phosphor-sulphur compounds”. Between 1994 and 1995 he held a scientific position at the Institute of Doping Analysis and sports biochemistry in Kreischa near Dresden. There he took a postgraduate study in „Toxicology and Environment Protection“.
1995 Haiko Schulz joined the Forschungsinstitut für Leder und Kunststoffbahnen (FILK) in Freiberg as scientist. 2001 he took a leading position as head of the institute´s division „Material Characterisation“ and the associated accredited test lab.
Haiko Schulz is member in numerous national and international standardisation bodies for physical and chemical testing of leather and coated textiles. He is actively engaged in work groups and committees aiming at the development and harmonization of test methods and technical specifications for this materials. Over the last two decades Haiko Schulz significantly contributed to the institute´s development being a nationally and internationally recognised material research and test institute.
With this step the institute underpins continuity in corporate management and development. Since the mid-2000s the institute shows a constant growth and counts now 130 employees. This sustainable growth shall continue under the dual leadership in order to strengthen and develop further the institute´s market position.
