FILK exhibiting at mtex+ May 29 and 30, 2018, Fairground Messe Chemnitz

Textiles and similar flexible materials with additional functions are becoming interesting for numerous branches. In Chemnitz, the “Textil Capital of Germany“, the high competence and dynamic of the saxon-thuringian industry and research region will be presented. mtex+. According to the motto "Excellente Connections" the 4th Chemnitz Lightweight Construction fair LiMA (with topics such as composites and textile lightweight structures) takes place in parallel and will offer extra value to both fairs.

For the 7th time mtex+ will take place in Chemnitz this year. With an extension of the thematic spectrum this year the circle of visitors from potential applying sectors shall be enlarged. As a specialist for flexible polymer materials such as leather, synthetic leather, coated textiles and similar flexible composite materials FILK Freiberg will be present at the 7th edition of mtex in Chemnitz.

Visitors and Co-exhibitors are welcomed to gather information on the extensive range of services of the institute´s accredited test lab. Since 2017 the innstitute is also memeber of the OEKO-TEX® community and certifies products and materials tested for harmful substances according to LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX® und STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

On showcase will also be results from a successful research cooperation of the institue with the enterprises VOWALON Beschichtung GmbH Treuen (VOWALON) and Trans-Textil GmbH (Trans-Textil), Freilassing, and the Sächsisches Textilforschungsinstitut e.V. (STFI) from Chemnitz:

„Manufacture of breathable/waterproof performance textiles on the basis of new, environment-friendly PUR membranes for laminates and material composites.“

Within the project FILK was in charge of the development of solvent-free, environment-friendly basis formulations for the manufacture of PUR membranes. Composite materials made from these membranes and cover fabrics are suitable for applications in weather protection clothing and as shoe upper material. They are characterised by:
