Our test laboratory professionally performs tensile tests on a wide range of materials in accordance with national and international standards as well as manufacturer specifications – including accredited test methods, e.g. according to DIN, DIN EN, DIN EN ISO, ASTM, GMW and PSA.
Tensile tests are fundamental mechanical test methods for determining the strength and deformation properties of materials. Depending on the material and test method, parameters such as tensile strength, maximum tensile force, tensile stress, elongation, elongation at break, elasticity and modulus are determined. The results provide information about the load-bearing capacity and deformation behaviour of a material.
FILK's testing portfolio includes tensile tests on a broad range of different materials. These include in particular leather, artificial leather and coated textiles, textiles and yarns, plastics and films as well as elastomers and belts. Both material-specific standardized tests and tests according to manufacturer specifications are offered. These include, for example, strip and grab tensile tests on textiles, tensile strength and elongation tests on leather, and the determination of the tensile properties of plastics, elastomers and coated materials.
Tensile tests are used, among other things, for material characterization, quality control and the comparison of different materials or material batches. Typical applications can be found in the automotive sector, for example for materials used in vehicle interiors, as well as in furniture and other technical products. Strength tests can also be used as part of material failure analysis / expertise and for investigating quality defects.
Below you will find all tests offered in this field, which you can also request directly there. Here you can find an overview of the physical tests.
