Our test laboratory performs testing in accordance with the BMW standard GS AA-0213 under accredited procedures. This test method describes the constant condensation climate test, a standardized procedure for evaluating the behavior of non-metallic automotive materials under condensation humidity conditions. The test is used to determine the resistance of plastics, elastomers, and films to moisture and temperature cycling—relevant stress factors that may occur in real vehicle operation, for example in window areas or in warm and humid climates.
In our laboratory, testing according to BMW AA-0213 is carried out under defined climatic conditions in which specimens are exposed to controlled cycles of humidity and temperature changes. The objective is to identify material changes such as swelling and shrinkage behavior, alterations in coating adhesion, as well as mechanical or visual degradation resulting from condensation. Test parameters—including relative humidity, temperature profiles, and exposure duration—are specified by the standard to ensure a high level of reproducibility and comparability of results.
