OEKO-TEX® Certifications

Safety for consumers

The basic idea behind OEKO-TEX® certification has been to offer consumers the highest level of human ecological product safety for textile or leather articles for more than 25 years now, while at the same time guaranteeing that these sustainable products have been manufactured in an environmentally and socially responsible manner.

As an established materials research and testing institute for the automotive, furniture, clothing and footwear industries, our testing laboratory offers testing and certification according to the OEKO-TEX® certification system and provides practical assistance in the process.

Made in Green by OEKO-TEX®

MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® is an independent and product label to meet the increased awareness of consumers for products manufactured in an environmentally and socially responsible manner. It enables manufacturers and retailers of textile and leather articles to clearly and visibly express their product responsibility. MADE IN GREEN product ID makes the entire value-added chain transparent and provides consumers with a reliable orientation for sustainable purchasing decisions.

MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® goes beyond the freedom from harmful substances. It also evaluates the raw materials and process chemicals required for production, manufacturing processes and site management. The more preliminary products and processes are certified via OEKO-TEX®, the easier it is for manufacturers and retailers of textile and leather products to obtain MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® certification. Find out more about the OEKO-TEX® portfolio here.

LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX®

The LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX® is a globally uniform, independent testing and certification system for leather and leather articles at all stages of production. Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®

The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is certainly the world's most widely used label in the OEKO-TEX® product family for labelling textiles tested for harmful substances, artificial leather, coated textiles and composites. Certification is based on the OEKO-TEX® catalog of criteria. It takes into account numerous substances, both regulated and non-regulated, which could be harmful to human health. In many cases, the limit values set for the STANDARD 100 exceed national and international requirements.

Product certification according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is modular in structure. Textile articles can be tested and certified at every stage of processing, including the manufacture of accessories. The recognition of pre-certificates can save testing costs for subsequent certifications.

SteP by OEKO-TEX®

STeP stands out from other certification systems in that it not only takes individual sustainability aspects into account, but also carries out a holistic analysis and evaluation of production conditions. STeP analyzes all important company areas within the framework of 6 modules:

  • Chemicals Management

  • Environmental performance

  • Environmental Management

  • Social responsibility

  • Quality Management

  • Health and safety at work

The goal of STeP certification is the permanent implementation of environmentally friendly production processes, social working conditions and optimal occupational safety.

ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX®

ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX® is an independent certification system for chemicals, colorants and auxiliaries that helps companies in the textile and leather industry to select chemicals that are ecologically safe for humans and environmentally friendly. The recognition of ECO-PASSPORT certification for STANDARD 100, LEATHER STANDARD and STeP certification is a living interplay of the steps of input control and product control towards more transparency for the benefit of the customer.

An ECO PASSPORT certification including audit is recognized by the ZDHC organization as "MRSL Conformance Indicator Level 3". A Self-Assessment grants ZDHC Conformance Level 2. The performance of the CAS Number Screening and the Analytical Test reach ZDHC Conformance Level 1. MRSL Conformance, as defined in the latest ZDHC MRSL version, is fully covered in the ECO PASSPORT certification process.
