Publisher

  • DIN / CEN / ISO

Our testing laboratory performs testing according to DIN EN ISO 17076‑1 (Leather – Determination of abrasion resistance – Part 1: Taber® method) competently and in an accredited procedure.

The test method according to ISO 17076‑1 measures the abrasion resistance of leather by exposing samples to a defined number of abrasion cycles using two abrading wheels under controlled pressure, after which the wear pattern is visually assessed using a gray scale. Leather goods manufacturers receive precise information on the quality and usability of their materials. Standard DIN EN ISO 17076‑1 is also applied to leather materials in the automotive sector, for example in accordance with Volkswagen TL 52064.
