EMSF 2026

EMSF 2026 marks the 21st edition of the European Meeting on Supercritical Fluids, organized by the International Society for the Advancement of Supercritical Fluids (ISASF). This year's conference is being held in cooperation with Clausthal University of Technology and will be chaired by Prof. Philip Jaeger.

From June 14 to 17, 2026, leading scientists and industry representatives will meet in Clausthal to discuss current developments, research findings, and innovative applications in the field of supercritical fluids. The event aims to strengthen existing networks, establish new contacts, and foster synergies.

Scientific contribution from FILK:

Presentation by Claudia Dietze: “Development of an integrated process for decellularization and cross-linking of collagen materials using supercritical carbon dioxide.” This presentation introduces the development of an integrated process that combines the decellularization, cross-linking, and sterilization of collagen-based extracellular matrix materials (ECM) using supercritical CO₂ (scCO₂). The background to this is the increasing demand for tissue replacement materials coupled with declining organ donation rates. While conventional methods often rely on potentially cytotoxic chemicals, scCO₂ offers an efficient, residue-free, and tissue-sparing alternative. This project demonstrates how an scCO₂-based approach can lead to more biocompatible, sustainable, and process-integrated solutions for tissue engineering applications.
