In addition to a large number of lectures, the symposium offers a platform for scientific exchange with experts from universities, research institutions and industry. The biennial conference reflects the interdisciplinary character of polymer science, in which different research fields of chemistry, physics, materials science and engineering science interact.
Dr. Maren Lehmann will present her poster on the topic: "Plant-based plasticizer and flame retardants for P-PVC". Modified vegetable oils are suitable as alternative plasticisers for flexible PVC. Through phosphonylation, compatibility with PVC, flame retardancy and thermal stability could be increased. The fatty acid esters containing phosphorus showed better gelling properties than phthalate plasticisers.
