BioMAT 2025 - European Symposium on Biomaterials and related Areas BioMAT 2025

8th BioMAT 2025 will present and discuss the current state of progress and novel trends in the development, characterization, evaluation and regulation, application, testing, and modeling of biomaterials in basic science and industry. In addition, this symposium will bring together experts in closely related areas, such as biomimetics, biomineralization, and biopolymers.

Dr Enno Klüver gives a lecture on: "Low temperature sterilization of thermolabile biofunctionalized implant materials". A low temperature sterilization method was developed which enables the mild sterilization of thermally instable implant materials which are functionalized with bioactive components like growth factors. The improved method enables effective sterilization at low temperatures, while preserving the mechanical properties of the base material as well as the functionality of the bioactive surface coatings.

And Dr Claudia Dietze presents a poster about "Multilayered GBR-Membranes with Mucoadhesive and Osteoinductive Properties" the current results on the development of a multilayer GBR membrane with mucoadhesive and osteoinductive properties. This new type of resorbable membrane is intended to biomimetically map the transition from hard to soft tissue by means of a multi-layer structure.
