On August 30, 2025, the "School Goes to Work" event opened its doors at the DBI on Halsbrücker Straße in Freiberg from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to showcase the diverse training and career opportunities available in regional companies. The Central Saxon training fair is part of the career orientation program and is very popular with students, parents, schools, and companies, primarily because of the direct contact it provides between future skilled workers and companies in the region.
Over 110 apprenticeships and almost 40 degree programs were presented by 116 exhibitors both indoors and outdoors last year. A new visitor record of 2,300 visitors was set in 2024.
As in previous years, the FILK was again an exhibitor, recruiting trainees for the professions of physics laboratory technician, chemistry laboratory technician, and biology laboratory technician. Our institute will be represented by our apprenticeship coordinator, Jörg Hunger, and a trainee from our ranks. Students and parents particularly appreciate it when trainees and trainers share their firsthand theoretical and practical experiences and answer questions. Information about internships and the training company itself also attracted a great deal of interest.
