Workshop "Implants - when the answer is in the layer!"

Collagen is a well-established material in medical applications that optimally supports tissue regeneration due to its biocompatibility and cell affinity. Dr. Enno Klüver's presentation on "Collagen in medical technology" will provide an overview of the extraction and processing of collagen and demonstrate its advantages using three specific examples from FILK's research activities on the topics of hybrid implant materials, bioactive coatings and micromechanical properties.

Dr. Frauke Junghans will also be giving a lecture on the "Fluorination of polymers in medicine".

This workshop on surfaces and coatings in relation to implants and medical technology is being held for the first time in Tuttlingen at Aesculap Akadmie GmbH. The topics include surface conditioning, materials and materials and include presentations on manufacturing processes, coating technologies and surface functionalization. The workshop committee consists of Dr. Frank Hempel from Leibniz INP, Prof. Dr. Hadi Mozaffari-Jovein from Furtwangen University, Thomas Oberbach from Mathys Orthopädie GmbH, Dr. Timea Stelzig from Oerlikon Balzers Coating Germany GmbH, Anja Härtel from EFDS e.V. and Prof. Dr. Michael Meyer from FILK.
