During the board meeting of the FILK Sponsors' Association on November 24, 2016, Dr Haiko Schulz was confirmed as a further managing director at FILK gGmbH in Freiberg, alongside the institute's director, Professor Michael Stoll. He will take up the management position on January 1, 2017. The institute thus once again demonstrates foresight and thus ensures continuity in the future development of the company.
Dr Haiko Schulz studied chemistry at the Technical University of Dresden and received his PhD in 1993 from the Institute of Analytical Chemistry in the field of solid-state and liquid NMR on organic phosphorus-sulfur compounds. From 1994 to 1995 he worked as a research associate at the Institute for Doping Analysis and Sports Biochemistry in Kreischa / Dresden and completed postgraduate studies in "Toxicology and Environmental Protection".
In 1995 Haiko Schulz moved as a scientist to FILK, Freiberg. In 2001 he took over the management of the department of material characterization with the associated accredited testing laboratory.
Haiko Schulz is a member of numerous national and international standardization committees for physical and chemical tests on leather and artificial leather. He is actively involved in working groups and commissions that promote the development and standardization of test methods and technical specifications for these materials. Over the past two decades, Haiko Schulz has contributed significantly to the development of the Institute into a nationally and internationally recognized materials research and testing institute.
With this step, the institute is committed to a continuation of its corporate management and development. The institute has been growing steadily since the mid-2000s and now has 130 employees. The sustainable growth course is to be continued with the new dual leadership in order to further strengthen and expand the institute's market position.
