Effective July 1, 2017, Dr Sascha Dietrich has taken over the management of the accredited testing laboratory at the Freiberg FILK. He takes over this position from Dr Haiko Schulz, who was appointed managing director of the institute at the beginning of the year.
Sascha Dietrich studied chemistry at Chemnitz University of Technology, where he graduated in 2007. He continued his education with doctoral studies, which he completed in 2012.
In the same year, he started working as a scientist at the institute, where he became the head of the "Physical Testing" working group as part of the accredited testing laboratory in 2015. During his scientific activity, he was mainly dedicated to the elucidation of structure-property relationships in flexible polymeric matrices such as leather and coated textiles. During this time, he acquired an extensive knowledge base on these materials.
In his new position, he will ensure that continuity is maintained in the testing laboratory in the future and that customers can rely on sound and qualitative consulting and testing services as usual. His experience and skills from his scientific activities will be incorporated into his new role as a service provider.
