Innovation Day for SMEs of the BMWK on 23 June 2022 in Berlin - We are there!

Back at last - the popular showcase in the green, the Innovation Day for SMEs of the BMWK, is taking place again in presence after 3 years. Our institute will be represented with two research topics at the BMWK's Innovation Day for SMEs on 23 June in Berlin.

In the INNO-KOM programme, the project "Development of a flexible, drapable surface heating as an interior material for the mobile sector" developed a light and stretchable composite material based on an aqueous PU dispersion and conductive additives. In combination with a textile, this creates a heatable cover material for automotive interiors that is very easy to process. The R2R production process could be transferred to a semi-technical scale.

The work in the project "Development of actively luminous, flexible, flat polymer composites by combining electrically conductive polymer layers with LED elements" was also based on the principle of conductive layers in the joint industrial research of the AiF. The LED elements are integrated directly into the composite in the coating process and then laminated onto a textile. The LEDs can be positioned freely in the surface and allow great design freedom. This material is also light, flexible and stretchable and is suitable for functional and ambient lighting for the mobility, interior, clothing and personal protective equipment sectors.

ABOUT THE BMWK'S INNOVATION DAY FOR MEDIUM-SIZED COMPANIES

The BMWK's Innovation Day for SMEs is a showcase for successful innovations and a communication platform for innovative SMEs, demonstrating their wealth of ideas and the effectiveness of open-topic innovation promotion.

Under the claim "Change through Innovation", numerous funding initiatives and programmes of the BMWK and their close interlinking "from the idea to market success" are presented. This year's special focus is on future-oriented topics such as ecological innovations, digitalisation and health.

Small and medium-sized enterprises and research institutions cooperating with them from all over Germany will present new products, processes and services whose development was funded by the federal government. The popular showcase in the countryside on the open-air grounds of AiF Projekt GmbH in Berlin also offers many opportunities to make contacts with companies and research institutions and to talk to representatives of politics and government in a relaxed atmosphere. The agenda for the day also includes a diverse stage programme with thematic speed-pitch sessions, short lectures and discussion rounds on innovation policy topics, as well as offers to support international collaborations.
