Actually, our running-enthusiastic colleagues wanted to participate in the REWE Team Challenge in Dresden for the 3rd time. Last year, 16 colleagues participated in 4 teams in the 5 km run through the old town of Dresden. The institute regularly pays the entry fees for this event.
Not surprisingly, the organizers had to cancel the running competition in the usual form, but they still wanted to make it possible to run together for the best team results and decentralized the competition without further ado.
Under the headline "REWE Virtual Challenge", they organized the dispatch of start numbers, certificates and medals and provided a portal where times, photos and messages could be transmitted.
And so our running teams met on May 28, 2020 at the Freiberg City Forest and completed a 5 km lap. As always, the focus was not on times, but on running together and having fun. And our colleagues had fun, as you can see in the photos.
Our runners would like to thank the organization and the back-up team, who patrolled the course on their bikes and acted as judges, and the management for their support. Professor Schulz did not miss the chance to be present at the finish and to take some snaps of our FILK challengers.
