Our testing lab performs testing according to DIN 75201 (Determination of the fogging characteristics of trim materials in the interior of automobiles) promptly, professionally, and in accordance with accredited procedures. The purpose of this test is to determine the condensation behavior of volatile substances released from materials used in vehicle interiors. Under defined conditions, the samples are heated to a specified temperature, causing volatile components to evaporate and condense on a glass surface.
The test can be carried out in three different variants:
• Gravimetric method (A): Determination of the mass of condensed substances by weighing the glass plate before and after the test.
• Reflectometric method (B): Measurement of the reflectance of the glass plate on which a film has formed, in order to evaluate optical impairment.
• Haze method (C): Determination of the haze value of the glass plate on which condensable components have settled, to assess visibility reduction due to fogging.
The results obtained in our test laboratory allow for a reliable evaluation of the fogging behavior of plastics, textiles, adhesives, foams, leather, and other materials used in automotive interiors.
