Our test lab performs testing in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 105-E01 standard (colour fastness to water – “water fastness”) quickly, competently, and in an accredited procedure.

This test method is used to determine the colour fastness of textiles to water. It assesses the durability of the dye when exposed to pure water, as may occur during moisture exposure, perspiration, or rain. For the test, the samples are immersed together with standardized adjacent fabrics in distilled water, then stored under defined temperature and pressure conditions in a testing apparatus and subsequently dried.

After treatment, both the color change of the sample (evaluated according to ISO 105-A02 / DIN EN 20105-A02) and the staining of the adjacent fabric (evaluated after ISO 105-A03 / DIN EN ISO 105-A03) are assessed using standardized grey scales, which serve as a reference for different levels of colour fastness. The assessment is made on a scale from 1 (very low fastness) to 5 (very high fastness).

Testing according to DIN EN ISO 105-E01 provides a reliable evaluation of the color stability of materials under water exposure and serves as an important basis for quality assessment, product safety, and usability.
