Our testing lab performs the standard DIN EN ISO 5470-1 (Determination of abrasion resistance of rubber- or plastics-coated fabrics – Part 1: Taber method) competently and using an accredited procedure.

The ISO 5470-1 test method determines the abrasion resistance of coated textiles by subjecting the specimens to a rotating abrasive action using standardized wheels, and evaluating the resulting mass loss after a defined number of test cycles. The specimens are conditioned under standard climate conditions, with specified load and rotation speed to ensure reproducible results.

In the test report issued by our test laboratory, details are recorded including the type of abrasive wheel used (e.g. CS-10, H-18), the applied load, the number of revolutions per minute, the total number of test cycles, and the average mas loss determined for the tested specimens.
