Our test laboratory performs testing according to FILK-QMA 1201 using accredited procedures for the microscopic determination of the full-grain character of leather.
The test method developed at FILK provides a reliable means of distinguishing between full-grain leather and leather with a grain-corrected or buffed surface.
It is particularly used for the evaluation of high-quality leather for automotive, furniture, footwear and leather goods applications. For automotive interior materials, full-grain character is required, for example, by VW TL 52064, BMW TL 7400000 and Faurecia LES-15-08-04-30.
