Detection of animal-derived ingredients (excluding bacteria, yeast, and fungi) in typical leather products (e.g., consumer goods, leather goods, leather alternatives), in medical products (collagen-based) or other materials. We measure both proteins and DNA and can thus detect traces of animal origin. Our method is based on state-of-the-art LC-MS (protein) and real-time PCR (DNA) technology, enabling us to provide you with precise information about animal-derived components.

Methods:
LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry): Detection of animal proteins, suitable for materials where protein residues remain.
Real-time PCR (polymerase chain reaction): Detection of specific animal DNA, even in highly processed products or small residual quantities.
