Flammability of Automotive Interior Materials
Material
Our test laboratory performs accredited testing according to the Chinese standard GB 8410 for evaluating the horizontal burning behaviour of vehicle interior materials. The standard specifies technical requirements and test methods for the horizontal flammability of automotive interior materials.
Test Procedure
During the test, the specimen is positioned horizontally and exposed to a flame at one end under defined conditions. Flame propagation is evaluated using specified measuring marks. The assessment particularly includes horizontal burning rate, burning distance, and behaviour regarding self-extinguishing or complete flame propagation.
The test is applied to textile interior materials, leather, artificial leather, films, foams, composite materials, carpets, headliners, and plastic surfaces. Related test methods include FMVSS 302, ISO 3795, SAE J369, DIN 75200, TSM 0500G, and VCS 5031,19.
