Our test laboratory performs accredited testing according to TSM 0500G (Toyota standard) for evaluating the fire behaviour of non-metallic automotive interior materials, including leather, coated textiles, plastics, textiles, and foams.

Test Procedure

For the tests, the specimen is conditioned according to the specification requirements and positioned in the test apparatus in a defined orientation. The sample is then exposed to a flame under specified conditions regarding flame geometry, exposure time, and specimen positioning. Depending on the specification, the assessment includes burning duration, burning distance, burning rate, self-extinguishing behaviour, or compliance with defined limit values. Additional observations such as afterglow behaviour, dripping behaviour, or flame propagation may also be documented.

The test is applied to seat cover materials, carpets, headliner materials, and door trim components. It is an OEM-specific fire test for automotive interiors and is technically related to ISO 3795, FMVSS 302, SAE J369, and GB 8410.
