Since 10 September, the annual city cycling event has been running again. This is the fourth time that our institute takes part, and this year a team of 20 is pedalling for a better climate until 30 September. City cycling is a campaign of the "Climate Alliance". Anyone who lives or works in Freiberg can take part in city cycling. The aim is to reduce CO2 emissions by cycling as much as possible. The campaign also aims to raise public awareness for the development of a better cycling infrastructure. Last year, the citizens of Freiberg "cycled" a total of 5,371 km and avoided the equivalent of 790 kg of CO2.

The city cycling portal also provides access to the RADar! reporting platform, an online-based citizen participation and planning tool of the Climate Alliance. RADar! offers local governments and citizens optimal opportunities to work together to improve cycling in their community.
