SUCCESSFUL START FOR THE FIRST INNOSIG

Under the motto "Research meets business", the first InnoSIG - the Innovation Forum of the Sächsische Industrieforschungsgemeinschaft e. V. (Saxon Industrial Research Association) - took place on October 6, 2015 at the Haus der Presse in Dresden. (SIG) took place. The patron of the event was Martin Dulig, Saxony's Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport, who opened the event with a welcoming address.

The SIG is made up of 18 Saxon non-profit external industrial research institutions, which presented themselves and their innovations together for the first time with numerous lectures on the topics of People & Health, Energy & Environment and Processes & Products and an accompanying exhibition.

150 inquisitive participants from politics, science and business were on hand to see for themselves the powerful partnerships between research and industry in the Free State and to find out about forward-looking topics such as carbon violins, Industry 4.0 and basalt yarns.

"Innovation is the key to success and the more knowledge-intensive we are positioned, the better off we are. This applies to Europe, Germany and Saxony - and it applies to every single company. Because innovative companies grow more strongly on average than others. To ensure that the Free State continues to play a pioneering role in Germany, Europe and the world, it is important that we work together to promote and advance the innovation process in Saxony. After all, innovations are among the most important drivers of growth, employment, social cohesion and the protection of livelihoods," said Minister of State Martin Dulig.
