Tesla

The accredited testing laboratory of FILK institute offers testing services according to Tesla specifications for automotive interior materials and components. Our laboratory tests synthetic leather, coated textiles, leather, textiles, plastics, elastomers, films, foams, functional coating systems and complete components. These testing services support material development, product approval and quality assurance in accordance with Tesla material standards and test specifications.

Material Standards for Interior Materials

The test laboratory performs material testing according to the Tesla material standards TM-6001 for synthetic leather, TM-6003 for automotive trim textiles, TM-6005 for carpets, TM-4001 for polyurethane foams, and TM-1002 and TM-1003 for ABS and PC/ABS materials, respectively. These tests evaluate material-specific properties and verify compliance with the performance requirements for modern automotive interior materials.

Surface Performance and Functional Testing

A major focus is the evaluation of the durability and in-service performance of automotive interior materials. FILK performs stick-slip testing according to TM-6001 at room temperature as well as under elevated and low-temperature conditions. In addition, our testing portfolio includes scratch resistance testing, mar resistance testing to assess resistance to minor surface damage, stain resistance testing, and light fastness testing under artificial weathering. These investigations provide valuable information on the visual appearance, durability and functional performance of surface materials during everyday vehicle use.

Emission and Chemical Resistance Testing

Another key area of expertise is emission testing according to Tesla TP-0000912 for evaluating the emission behaviour of automotive materials and components. Materials such as plastics, foams, textiles, leather, synthetic leather, functional coating systems and multi-material composites are tested for their emission characteristics. In addition, FILK performs chemical resistance testing according to Tesla TP-0000703 and TS-0002476, assessing the resistance of surfaces and components to chemical agents and typical service-related exposure conditions.
