Toyota (Automotive Interior)

The accredited testing laboratory of FILK supports manufacturers and suppliers in the testing of materials and components for automotive interiors according to Toyota specifications. Our testing services include the evaluation of leather, synthetic leather, textiles, plastics, elastomers, films, coatings, foams and functional material composites used in vehicle applications.

A major focus is placed on physical and mechanical laboratory testing and material evaluations to assess the quality and performance characteristics of interior materials. These include, among others, tests for strength, abrasion and rub resistance, as well as surface and coating properties. For Toyota applications, FILK performs automotive testing according to manufacturer-specific requirements, including tests for the fogging behaviour of non-metallic materials, colour change after xenon exposure, the determination of regulated substances such as lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)), as well as flammability testing of automotive interior materials. In addition, we investigate automotive materials with regard to VOC emissions, outgassing behaviour, odour characteristics, composition and relevant substances in accordance with REACH requirements and customer-specific Toyota specifications.

In the event of quality issues and complaints, FILK provides support through failure analysis of automotive interior materials.

The following section provides an overview of selected testing services, which can be requested individually.
