Materials Week 2025

Materials Week 2025 - the former DGM Materials Week - is a conference focussing on the latest developments and innovations in the field of materials. It brings together researchers, engineers and industry professionals to discuss trends, technologies and applications in materials science.

We present:

  • a poster by Susanne Fritz and Maren Lehmann on ‘Meeting the plasticisers problem - Development of durable, eco-friendly and harmless soft materials with the help of atomistic simulation’. New research results will be presented on how molecular dynamic simulations can support the development process of plasticisers, additives and soft PVC products. Through the purely computer-aided prediction of performance properties, new materials can be evaluated before they have been manufactured and extensively tested in the laboratory.

  • a presentation by Martin Strangfeld on ‘Modern approaches for stick-slip-testing of automotive interiors’. In order to make material tests for noise prevention in automotive interiors more meaningful and reliable, there is a clear trend towards increasingly realistic test conditions, but this is associated with challenges in the implementation, analysis and interpretation of the results. In this presentation, research results and new developments in stick-slip testing methodology will be presented.
