In the summer of this year, the accredited testing laboratory of the Research Institute for Leather and Plastic Sheeting underwent re-auditing by DAIMLER AG and was confirmed as a certified Class A laboratory for the automotive manufacturer. DAIMLER AG audits and certifies testing laboratories worldwide on the basis of a demanding quality standard for testing services. For the institute's testing laboratory, the highest ranking means approval for the most demanding and, from DAIMLER AG's point of view, most important material tests.
According to the certificate, the institute is allowed to test an extensive range of materials for interior applications such as leather, textiles, coated textiles and plastics. The certificate covers a total of 74 individual tests, mainly physical, chemical and emission tests, but also special tests such as stick-slip behavior and odor tests.
