Since 20 May, the annual city cycling event has been running again. This is the fifth time that our institute takes part, and this year a team of almost 30 is pedalling for a better climate until 9 June. City cycling is a campaign of the "Climate Alliance". Anyone who lives or works in Freiberg can take part in city cycling. The aim is to reduce CO2 emissions by cycling as much as possible. The campaign also aims to raise public awareness for the development of a better cycling infrastructure. At the moment, the FILKies have "cycled" by 4,600 km and avoided the equivalent of 700 kg of CO2.

The city cycling portal also provides access to the RADar! reporting platform, an online-based citizen participation and planning tool of the Climate Alliance. RADar! offers local governments and citizens optimal opportunities to work together to improve cycling in their community.
