Resistance to bending

Our test laboratory performs various tests for determining flex resistance, including ISO 3378 as an accredited test method. These investigations are used to evaluate the behaviour of materials and composite structures under repeated bending and flexing stress and provide information on durability, flexibility, and mechanical resistance.

The tests are carried out on leather, artificial leather / coated textiles, plastic films, and multilayer composite materials. Typical applications include automotive interiors, furniture materials, technical coated fabrics, and coated surfaces.

Depending on the test method, the specimens are subjected to cyclic bending or flexing under defined conditions. The assessment may include crack formation, whitening effects, delamination, surface changes, as well as the behaviour of coatings and composite systems under repeated mechanical stress. The tests are frequently combined with additional ageing, abrasion, climatic, or resistance tests.
