Testing according to RAL in our laboratory
Our testing laboratory performs tests in accordance with the quality and testing specifications of RAL „Deutsches Institut für Gütesicherung und Kennzeichnung“.
These tests are used to evaluate materials and products with regard to quality, environmental compatibility, usability, and health safety.
RAL regulations are particularly applied in the fields of furniture, upholstered furniture, leather, textiles, as well as coated and composite materials. They define both material requirements and testing procedures to ensure consistent product quality.
Tested properties and areas include:
odor behavior and sensory properties (odor assessment of furniture leather and interior materials according to RAL-GZ 430, including rapid methods based on VDA procedures)
emission behavior and health-related evaluation (requirements for low-emission upholstered furniture and materials according to RAL-UZ 117 and RAL-UZ 148)
aging and temperature resistance of upholstery materials (behavior of leather and synthetic leather under heat, humidity, and long-term loading according to RAL-GZ 430/4)
mechanical and usage-related properties of upholstery materials (durability, stability, and surface changes under practical use conditions)
material classification, designation, and categorization of leather and materials (definitions of leather terminology, quality classes, and differentiation from leather substitutes according to RAL 060 A2 and RAL 061 A1 as well as DIN EN 15987)
