Chromium (VI)

Leather for shoes, clothing and furniture / upholstery is made by tanning with chromium (III) salts. With careful processing, the salt is firmly bound in the leather. The review of the legal limit of 3 mg / kg reflects the processing process. The behavior of chrome leather under thermal stress with low humidity (aging) provides information on the long-term behavior of the leather.
