FILK TEST LABORATORY RECEIVES FLEXIBLE ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE ACCORDING TO DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018

FILK TEST LABORATORY RECEIVES FLEXIBLE ACCREDITATION CERTIFICATE ACCORDING TO DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018

The test lab complies with the high demands of the DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard released in 2018, thus certifying the institute´s expertise, reliability and service quality in material testing of leather, synthetics and coated textiles. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak in the beginning of this year, the accreditation process was delayed until now.

In fall 2019, the test lab passed through the re-auditing process according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018, which was extended by many new components and high quality standards with its latest release. As part of that process, numerous new test methods of national and international standardisation bodies and various technical standards of car, upholstery, shoe and clothing manufacturers were included.

In the scope of the currently valid accreditation the institute offers an extensive range of test methods for materials for mainly interior applications such as leather, coated textiles and synthetics as well as composites and parts. Overall, the certificate comprises more than 130 individual test methods, in particular physical, chemical and emission testing but also typical sectoral tests such as stick-slip-behaviour and odour tests. The flexible accreditation allows for testing of all included test standards in their currently valid version.

The accreditation according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 is the most important standard for any test and calibration laboratory. In nearly all countries worldwide the accreditation is required to prove testing competence and compliance with the quality standards. The recognition of test results by manufacturers and authorities depends on holding the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

The current accreditation certificate can be downloaded on the institute´s website.
