Our laboratory performs tensile testing on materials professionally and in accordance with international standards, including accredited test procedures (e.g. DIN, DIN EN, DIN EN ISO, ASTM, GMW, PSA, etc.).
Tensile tests are fundamental mechanical test methods used to determine properties such as tensile strength, elongation, elasticity, and deformation behavior of a material under uniaxial tensile loading. For this purpose, standardized specimens are clamped on both sides in a precisely controlled tensile testing machine and stretched at a constant speed until fracture or a defined deformation occurs.
During the test, the applied force and the change in length are continuously measured, allowing characteristic values such as maximum tensile force, tensile stress, elongation at break, and modulus to be calculated. These mechanical parameters provide insight into load-bearing capacity, elasticity, brittleness, and material homogeneity.
In our testing lab, a wide range of materials is examined, including leather, synthetic leather, coated textiles, plastic materials (PVC films, PU films), webbing, and similar products, often for applications in automotive interiors or the furniture industry. Strength tests are also used as part of failure analysis and the investigation of quality issues.
