More than 50 representatives from industry and science accepted the invitation of the FILK to the 13th "Freiberger Polymertag" on April 25 and 26, 2017, in the historic auditorium of the FILK. The technical focus of the conference was on multifunctional coatings and their boundless (?) possibilities.
The lecture program dealt with different materials and their surfaces, which are being equipped with increasingly complex functionalities to meet the specific requirements for applications in medical technology, automotive equipment or as technical textiles. Additive manufacturing and the requirements of Industry 4.0 were also discussed. New technical developments in raw materials and technologies as well as basic research results were up for scientific discussion. Among others, polymers and additives for functional coatings, additive manufacturing with synthetic and natural polymers and thin functional layers including nanoscale structures were presented.
In the evening between the two days of the event, the participants had the opportunity to get to know Freiberg better during a city tour and to exchange experiences and maintain contacts during a social dinner.
